Dr Godknows Njowa
Dr Njowa is highly qualified and experience mining professional. He holds a PhD in Mineral Asset Valuation and Financial Reporting, M. Sc – Mining Engineering specialising in Mineral Resources Management (Cum Laude), BSc. Hons. Mining Engineering, Corporate Governance and Financial Accounting, Graduate Diploma in Mining Engineering specialising in Mineral Resources Management and Mineral Asset Valuations, Certificate – Securities Investment Analysis, Postgraduate Certificate Mining Tax Law Certificate.
Godknows Njowa has been actively involved in the mineral industry since 2002, with a special focus on mineral project evaluation and valuation. He has a unique capability combining skills in Mining Engineering, Mine Management Accounting and Corporate Governance. His key expertise includes mineral asset valuations, technical and economic reviews, mineral business improvement, M&A due diligence, mineral resources and mineral reserve estimation and LOM plans review, in a range of commodities, including diamonds, coal, platinum, iron ore, manganese, limestone, zinc and gold. His global experience includes working on projects located in South Africa, United Kingdom, Czech Republic; Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia; Botswana; Zimbabwe; Mozambique; Tanzania, Ghana, the Central African Republic; and the DRC, amongst other African countries.
Godknows Njowa has special interests in the public reporting of mineral assets and their valuation, with focus on the following codes and standards:- International Accounting Standards (IAS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), South African Code for the Reporting of Mineral Resources and Reserves (SAMREC Code) and The South African Code for the Valuation of mineral projects (SAMVAL Code). He has been involved in the writing of numerous codes the South African Code for the Reporting of Mineral Resources and Reserves (SAMREC Code) and is currently on the committee writing the South African Code for the Valuation of mineral projects (SAMVAL Code) July 2019 and on JSE Listing requirements committee and involved in the drafting of the JSE listing requirements for the minerals and exploration companies. At the international level, he is involved in the creation of the International Mineral Valuation Committee (IMVAL) and the IMVAL Template.
